2010

Youth Conservation Field Day - August 28, 2010

The ever-popular Youth Conservation Field Day is scheduled this year for August 28th. Doors open at 9 am for registration. The event begins at 10 am. The event is open to ages 6 to 17. The cost for the day is only $5!

Sessions included are: Trap Shooting, Archery, Sporting Clays, 22 Rifles, Air Rifle, 22 Pistols, Black Powder, and Conservation Education.

2009

The Youth Conservation Day event that was held at Gopher Campfire on Saturday August 22. There were 110 kids that participated and all had a great time. They had a chance to experience air rifles, archery, black powder, .22 rifles, .22 pistols and shot gun shooting along with an educational talk on conservation.

2008

Youth Conserveration Day was held Saturday, August 23, 2008. Youth participated in supervised shooting sports (trap, sporting clays, archery, rifle, handguns, muzzle loading firearms) along with learning why conservation is so important for the future of wildlife.

2006

Saturday, September 9, 2006 Gopher Campfire was again proud to host YOUTH CONSERVATION DAY. This year 90 future conservation members participated in supervised shooting sports (trap, sporting clays, archery, rifle, handguns, muzzle loading firearms) along with why conservation is so important for the future of wildlife. This event could not be possible with out the large group of volunteers from Gopher Campfire, Little Crow Archery Club,Buffalo Lake Rod & Gun, Minnesota Deer Hunters, both Meeker and McLeod County Pheasants Forever Chapters, Ducks Unlimited, and the Wild Turkey Federation. We have started planning for the 2007 event to be held on September 8th, anyone interested in helping can get in touch with me as to the time of the next meeting at: Saturday, September 9, 2006 Gopher Campfire was again proud to host YOUTH CONSERVATION DAY.
